A Happy Space for Kids and Grown Ups – A Quick Action Case Study

Sometimes we have clients who need help making their home happy, *but* they don’t need a full design plan… just a little coaching and guidance.

That was the situation with these folks. They wanted their home to look cohesive, inviting, and *like adults live there* (aka getting rid of their mismatched hand-me-down furniture). Specifically, they hoped to create a welcoming, cozy living room where their boys could play safely while the grown ups visited with friends over a cup of tea.

We spent an efficient 90 minutes together in a QA session. First, we did a quick, rough measurement of the room:

And then popped that into our laptop to create a rough layout concept:

Then we hopped online and shopped some furniture ideas, taking into account their interest in some splashes of teal, and the color of their existing sofas (NOTE – these were *concept* items to give the clients a framework for shopping – choosing specific items would have taken a little more time):

And guess what!? They took those ideas and turned them into reality!! How amazing is this charming space (and how great is that artwork they commissioned from Carlee Arnold)?!?!

The client now loves hanging out in the space, and said:

Awww! We are so happy we were able to help!!

We can’t always get a whole layout worked out and items shopped in a short 90 minute session, but this project is a perfect example of the magic that can happen when a motivated, decisive client combines forces with Rebecca, the Queen of the Quick Action Session!
