#BathtubGoals

This ugly-ducking bathroom was totally stuck in the 90’s and ranked a *zero* in the charm and elegance categories. The long and skinny footprint forced us to keep the bath elements in the same places, but that didn’t keep us from turning this drab, motel-feeling space into an elegant, master bath that was natural enough for the man of the house, and sparkly enough for the lady of the house.

How did this master bath gets its fairy-tale ending? Well, on one end we tucked in a delicious free-standing soaker tub, backed by a stunning feature wall of horizontal stacked stone. Not only did this add an amazing layer of texture to the room, the horizontal lines also served to help visually widen the room.

In the middle of the room we selected dark espresso cabinetry to give some gorgeous contrast to the space (a key way to keep a room from feeling too builder-beige-bland), and topped the vanity with a bright white counter and a mirror that spanned the width of the vanity and went all the way to the ceiling to give some visual depth to the space.

On the other end we included a linen closet just before the wall to the toilet/shower room to make better use of that crazy-long vanity. That still left plenty of room for a double sink vanity, provided great storage, and also made the room feel less long and skinny.

Then we dressed up the shower and toilet room with a frameless glass enclosure and tile that featured a horizontal pattern to make the room appear wider (you see a theme here?).

Of course, the real credit goes to the amazing contracting team at Palmer Residential. If you are the kind of client who expects outstanding craftsmanship & superb communication from your general contractor, then you’re going to want to keep these folks on your list! They aren’t going to give you the cheapest estimate for your job, but hire them and you will definitely get amazing value for your money – they pride themselves on setting and meeting some pretty high standards in project management, execution, and client communication. Check ’em out! ?
