Our founder Rebecca says I am a great gift giver (awww) – and if that’s true, it’s because I try really hard to find meaningful, personalized gifts for the folks on my list. If you would like to amp up your personalized gift-giving game, here is a gift guide filled with the awesome gifts on my radar! (PS, if you’re on my list, you might see some of these show up under your tree!)

The Gift of Quality Time

There is no better gift than the gift of quality time, especially in an age where spending time together means sitting in front of a TV, playing Candy Crush, and updating your status all while eating dinner. Why not give the people you love an opportunity for some real-life face time?

Last year for my sister and her family, I made a DIY coupon for the Wildlights at Woodland Park Zoo, threw in a coupon for a ride on the carousel, and brought hot chocolate for everybody. I sent it off in the mail as an *early* Christmas present (getting mail is always fun!), which not only gave them something fun to open, but also something exciting to look forward to! (In case you like this idea – heads up! We froze our butts off lol (dress warmly!) but the cocoa and a night ending in a snowball fight at Snowmazium made it all worth it!)

There are always lots of holiday events, so check for what’s coming up in you neighborhood. Another fun option in the Seattle area is Enchant Christmas or, if want to go a little further away from home, why not sip hot chocolate on a sleigh ride in Leavenworth? (It’s on my list!)

Another great example: This year, for my bestie (spoiler alert -Wendy), I am looking into a wreath making class like this one at Twig & Vine Flower Farm. How cute are these wreaths? There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than to craft something, and bonus – they offer warm cider and cookies!

So make some lasting memories with your loved ones this year!

Tangible Gifts

For the family:

How cute is this super sweet personalized Wellies Print? This would make the perfect addition to a gallery wall, especially for anyone who’s added a member or two to the family lately!

For your significant other:

How about a special Adventure Together Map marking those places that are special and unique to you as a couple? Maybe it’s the first vacation together or where you were married – as long as it’s meaningful to you, it’s a perfect idea and a memento that will be meaningful for years!

For those little people:

I just received my Moon and Stars Night Light for my daughter’s room and am super happy with this purchase. Great quality, durable since it’s laser engraved acrylic (who needs something fragile in a 2-year-old’s room, right?), shipping was quick and the on and off switch is easy to operate!

For your parent:

Parents have got to be one of the hardest people to purchase for. They have everything, need nothing and when you ask, the response goes something like, “I just want to see you” (yes dad, I am talking about you!). When we do get together our family ancestry is a topic often touched on and I came across this Wood Family Tree Chart. You can add up to 6 generations! I’ll have to face this conundrum again next year, but I’ve got this one covered!

For your four-legged friends:

They will be eating in style with these super adorable bowls! Plus this is a great gift for any human who just added a furry friend to their home!

A Christmas tree ornament (for anyone):

It is a tradition in my family to get an ornament every year from my parents. I love putting them up year after year, so many memories! These are the perfect small gift to give as you can customize them and pick from lots of different options. These can be a great way to mark a milestone, like a marriage, a new home, or a baby’s first Christmas!

For the jetsetter:

We all know someone who likes to travel (or travels for work). Why not help them travel in style and get them a coordinating luggage tag and passport holder? I did this for my always-on-the-go boss last year, and she says she loves it!

For my hubby I wanted something a little more masculine, so I purchased a toiletry bag and passport cover six years ago from Felix Street Leather and he still uses it to this day. Great quality product, highly recommended!

Gift guide

I LOVE the gift-giving season, but if finding the perfect gift stresses you out, I hope you found this gift guide useful and inspiring! If you’re looking for even more awesome ideas – check out our awesome gift guide from last year! Remember, gift-giving does not have to be about splurging on fancy gifts, and just like I mentioned earlier that the gift of time is the very best gift, be sure to give it to yourself, too.

Enjoy this most wonderful time of the year! And since I am writing this from Hawaii:

Mele Kalikimaka!

May your home always be happy!

Rebecca West, Interior Designer Seattle

HI, I'M REBECCA WEST!
I’m an interior designer, author, podcaster, speaker, and coach to other designers. (Whew!) But I’m not your classic interior designer because, frankly, I don’t care if you buy a new sofa. I do care if your home supports your goals and feels like “you.” Remember, happy starts at home!

Are you ready for a seriously happy home?
